[WASHINGTON, DC]— During today’s Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee hearing on the future of 5G wireless technology and their impact on the American people and economy, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) raised concerns with the lack of any scientific research and data on the technology’s potential health risks.

Blumenthal blasted the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)—government agencies jointly-responsible for ensuring that cellphone technologies are safe to use—for failing to conduct any research into the safety of 5G technology, and instead, engaging in bureaucratic finger-pointing and deferring to industry.

In December 2018, Blumenthal and U.S. Representative Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18) sent a letter to FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr seeking answers regarding potential health risks posed by new 5G wireless technology. At today’s hearing, Blumenthal criticized Carr for failing to provide answers, and instead, just echoing, “the general statements of the FDA, which shares regulatory responsibility for cell phones with the FCC.”  Blumenthal also decried the FDA’s statements as “pretty unsatisfactory.”  A PDF of Carr’s complete response is available here.

During an exchange with wireless industry representatives, Blumenthal asked them whether they have supported research on the safety of 5G technology and potential links between radiofrequency and cancer, and the industry representatives conceded they have not.

Blumenthal stated:

“If you go to the FDA website, there basically is a cursory and superficial citation to existing scientific data saying ‘The FDA has urged the cell phone industry to take a number of steps, including support additional research on possible biological effects of radio frequency fields for the type of signals emitted by cell phones.’ I believe that Americans deserve to know what the health effects are, not to pre-judge what scientific studies may show, and they also deserve a commitment to do the research on outstanding questions.”

“So my question for you: How much money has the industry committed to supporting additional independent research—I stress independent—research? Is that independent research ongoing? Has any been completed? Where can consumers look for it? And we’re talking about research on the biological effects of this new technology.”

At the end of the exchange, Blumenthal concluded,

“So there really is no research ongoing.  We’re kind of flying blind here, as far as health and safety is concerned.”

In November 2018, the National Toxicology Program released the final results of the longest and most expensive study to date on cellphones and cancer. Those studies found “some evidence” of a link to cancer, at least in male rats. However, the study only focused on the risks associated with 2G and 3G cell phones.

The latest 5G wireless technology relies on the deployment of many more new antennas and transmitters that are clustered lower to the ground and closer to homes and schools. There has been even more limited research with respect to the health ramifications of 5G technology, and the FCC has thus far failed to adequately explain how they have determined 5G is safe.

  • More studies?/ Do we really need to study whether a positively charged Mg ++ electrolyte in our body would be repelled by the positively charged oxygen ions that the cell towers produce? Or is this something that can be found in the first pages of any high school chemistry book?

With that Mg++ ion being interfered within our all-important cell channels how does our body activate ATP? How does the Mg keep us from getting legs cramps if it is detoured? Does our heart maintain its proper rate of beating when our Mg is sent off yonder?

These are fundamental questions that would need compelling answers before the first 5G is turned on. snce there are 300 tasks for Mg to carry out, we would need an answer to at least 300 questions, not counting the same questions when it comes to our Sodium, Potassium, and Calcium ions as well. They are all positively charged when entering their respective cell channels. Thus all of them are likely to be repelled.

Thanks for this William. I would surmise the reason are no studies are because ANY proper study would find obvious harm… and they know it!

  • For the record: In approximately 2005, or around that time, I was not informed that a so-called smart meter had been installed on my house. If I remember correctly, it was a Friday. On the following Saturday I was driving to Monroe, Michigan for a concert, and made a right turn and felt somewhat delerious. I pulled to the right side of the road and in a few seconds I regained full consciousness. I attended the concert and went home. The following Sunday my wife drove me to emergency at the Providence park hospital in Novi, Michigan, and my wife was told that I would probably not make it; stay alive. After a series of tests I became aware and it was decided that I should have a pace-maker installed in my chest. I began to experience a large number of experiences that I called, what seemed like a chill, then somewhat light-headed and after a few more minutes I would go back to normalcy. Those experiences, ten (10) or twelve (12) per day, lasted for a number of weeks and then began to lessen; However, I had placed aluminum over the meter and on a piece of cardboard on the inside wall.
After much research I learned that the Scandinavian nations had outlawed the meters because of the damaging effects of the electro-magnetic waves: After months, and probably after much money had been spent influencing those nations, a later report stated that they were not that dangerous. Apparently, money has a greater effect on politicians.
We are being inundated with electronic equipment that is extremely dangerous and the industry is more concerned with making money than guaranteeing the health of the people!

I’m sorry you had to endure those terrible effects, Donald.
Last year Consumers Energy put a device on my air conditioner. This is part of a program to save money on air conditioning. I agreed to do it. I got home one day and found literature on my door knob, saying that they installed the device and only then did I realize that it basically is similar to a smart meter. I thought I’d leave it on for a while and see what happened. My sleeping room is quite far from the air conditioner,
After a few months I started getting an aching in my groin, especially at night. I thought I just pulled a muscle, and realizing it may take a while to heal, I waited about 6 months. It did not go away and I suddenly realized that it might be the device on my air conditioner. I called to have it removed. Over the phone the company was able to disable the device and a technician came a few days later to remove it.
After the phone call, I had NO aching in my groin and none since–it’s now been about 2 months.
I’m very afraid of 5G. People need to start believing.

Very informational. Thank you for teaching us.

  • Susie BC says:

    Hi Josh –

Thank you for all the work you, Cal and the Inpower team are doing on behalf of humanity. I have become electro-sensitive over the last several years with many adverse effects due to EMF radiation. So I can attest to dangerous biological effects. I’m initiating a Coalition for Informed Consent here in our state. We would like very much if you could put us in touch with active seed groups currently working in CO. We’d like to offer inpowermovement’s process as an ACTive initiative towards halting the 5G roll out currently in process. Q- The Senate has passed these bills and I just found out last month, our city has approved the local bill and we’ve missed the pubic meeting . Can we still take positive action to halt the process? Let us know how we can help your organization – volunteering, sharing, etc. Please feel free to contact me in the email provided on your end. In gratitude, Susie

Hi Susie, the answer is YES, because even though statues are being passed in criminal fashion, you never lose your right to not be harmed. In commerce, the language is money and liability is everything. You (and everyone) has the truth on y/our side. Keep going 🙂 ps. I am not involved in the day-to-day of InPower at this time, but please do be in touch with them (https://support.inpowermovement.com) and stay tuned to their email list, and also the Take Back Your Power email list, which is linked below.

      • Susie BC says:

I appreciate your response very much, Josh. I have signed up for email updates. And will now contact support. We’re interested in responding to Notice of Intent actions listed in newspapers as well.
        Blessings on the journey~

  • Robert says:

Science has indicated by their studies – which I do not believe and is theoretical at best, that world population growth cannot be sustained as food, water and other essential life elements are decreasing. It is, therefore, my opinion be the issue 5G, GMO, vaccinations, and other concerns regarding environment and health practices, that legislative oversight fails intentionally in support of technology, pharmaceutical, environmental and international trade lobbyists. The bottom line in this collective cesspool is population control. It is subtle, discreet, molded into alluring features and benefits and like cotton candy is teasing to the eye in its attractive volume and salivating sensors, providing no value other than tooth decay. The big pictures is being sold but it’s made up of smaller indistinguishable pixels. Follow the money and you’ll see that “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely! It doesn’t matter what side of the political isle you sit or favor.
